About Banshee

The latest version of Banshee is 1.4.1, released on November 10, 2008. Banshee is free/open source software, released under the MIT/X11 license.

Visit the Getting Started page for instructions on how to get Banshee up and running on your system. Binary packages are available for most popular distributions, as well as source build instructions.

Banshee developers will be attending GUADEC 2008 (http://2008.guadec.org/) in Istanbul, Turkey July 7 - 12th. There will be a Banshee talk (http://guadec.expectnation.com/guadec08/public/schedule/detail/106), Birds of a Feather meeting (http://guadec.expectnation.com/guadec08/public/schedule/detail/104), and 5-minute lightening talk (http://guadec.expectnation.com/guadec08/public/schedule/detail/105).
