Banshee is written to be easily enhanced by extensions. In fact, the Play Queue, Podcasting, and Last.fm support are all extensions. You can turn extensions on and off within the Extensions tab of the Preferences dialog (under the Edit menu).
In Banshee 0.13.2 and before, extensions were called plugins. Plugins from 0.13.2 and before will not work with Banshee 1.0 and later. Most plugins from Banhee 0.13.2 have been or will soon be ported to Banshee 1.0.
Third Party Extensions
The following extensions are developed by third-parties, and are not vetted or supported by the Banshee community. In the future, Banshee will have a community repository that you'll be able to browse from within your Extension preferences. But for now, you need to find and download them yourself, and move it to~/.config/banshee-1/addins.
