This release is a beta-quality technology preview with no device (iPod etc) support, CD support, or video support. We encourage you to test and report issues. Banshee 1.4.0 was our first release on the Mac OS X platform, so it is not yet as complete or as stable as our Linux releases.

To install Banshee on Mac OS X, you must have either 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.5 (Leopard) on the Intel platform (we do not plan on supporting PowerPC). You also need the Mono Framework installed.

Platform Not Detected or Unsupported

  • Your distribution or operating system could not be detected or is not supported at this time.
  • If you are running Linux, please choose a distribution above, or download and build from source (details below).
  • Banshee is available for many Linux distributions and will soon be available for Windows and Mac OS X. Please stay tuned to our blog for details.
